Surrealism Off The Wall
If you missed Surrealism Beyond Borders at The Met, which closed recently, here is another chance to catch something from the show.
Credit: Salvador Dali, 1936.
Pictured in frame — Soft Construction with Boiled Bean [Premonition of Civil War].
I appreciated the chance to learn more about the influence of the Surrealists outside the usual Paris-New York focus, taking into consideration Chicago, Mexico City, Cairo, and the many other places where artists back in the day grappled with the transgressive subconscious.
